Just Like Heaven (2005)

Elizabeth Masterson (Witherspoon) is a dedicated, workaholic doctor who is way to busy for a life. One night, she gets into a horrible car accident and becomes a spirit stuck between heaven and earth. She doesn't know she's dead and thinks nothing has happened until she meets David Abbot (Ruffalo), a lonely architect, who rents her old apartment. David thinks he's crazy by seeing Elizabeth's spirit and tries all ways to get rid of her, but she just won't go away. Although the two are complete opposites they somehow may just form a relationship.

Capote (2005)

In 1959, Truman Capote, a popular writer for The New Yorker, learns about the horrific and senseless murder of a family of four in Halcomb, Kansas. Inspired by the story material, Capote and his partner, Harper Lee, travel to the town to research for an article. However, as Capote digs deeper into the story, he is inspired to expand the project into what would be his greatest work, In Cold Blood. To that end, he arranges extensive interviews with the prisoners, especially with Perry Smith, a quiet and articulate man with a troubled history. As he works on his book, Capote feels some compassion for Perry which in part prompts him to help the prisoners to some degree. However, that feeling deeply conflicts with his need for closure for his book which only an execution can provide. That conflict and the mixed motives for both interviewer and subject make for a troubling experience that would produce an literary account that would redefine modern non-fiction.

*哈好久的電影,終於看到了...在台北只有一家戲院有哩,而且還是小廳! 座位大約坐了六成,一半以上是"阿豆丫",除了洋男台女;台男洋女外,也有洋男台男的組合...這種很"洋味兒"的題材,才會吸引這些洋人吧!
*Philip Seymour Hoffman的電影生涯幾乎是以邊緣角色度過,如:被咬掉舌頭的記者;瘋瘋的舞家;叛逆的學生;(成名在望和冷山裡也有軋上一角?沒注意到耶;2006/5/5上映的MI: III又演大反派啦!)這次終於擔綱男主角,除了動作很 gay外,連音調尖銳,口齒不清的特色都學的唯妙唯肖!
*金球獎頒獎典禮費了好大一番功夫才下載到,當時他的得獎感言講得遜遜的(生平第一次嘛);但是在Academy就不一樣囉!讓我也好想哭,嗚嗚;二線演員熬到最佳男主角,應驗了以下八個字: 厚植實力,等待機會!!!
*雖然整部戲就跟劇情簡介一模一樣,沒有高潮,沒有轉折,對某些人來說,可能有點乏味或沈悶;但是,欣賞他的演出,就非常過癮了!步出戲院時,才發覺,原來這部電影也是2小時的長片呢!
*看完這部電影後,有點想看In Cold Blood;也想看To Kill a Mockingbird~
*小成本的電影哦,36天就拍攝完畢~
*Philip Seymour Hoffman為了這部電影,瘦身20kg~

Cape Fear (1991)

Sam Bowden is a small-town corporate attorney/"Leave It to Beaver"-esque family-man. Max Cady is a tattooed, cigar-smoking, bible-quoting, psychotic rapist. What do they have in common? Fourteen years, ago Sam was a public defender assigned to Max Cady's rape trial, and he made a serious error: he hid a document from his illiterate client that could have gotten him acquitted. Now, the cagey, bibliophile Cady has been released, and he intends to teach Sam Bowden and his family a thing or two about loss.
